MNB Global, Inc. is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business headquartered in Bloomington, IN USA. Founded in 2009 by Nick Cinquegranna and Dr. Martina Barnas, it was originally established as an importer and distributor of premium boutique wines and spirits. For administrative and investment purposes MNB Global is a wholly owned subsidiary of MNB Technologies, Inc.
For years Nick and Martina's friends and neighbors told them that they should: a) open a restaurant, b) put their rubs in jars and sell them, c) put their spice blends in jars and sell them, or d) have more dinner parties. For years this advice was ignored (except for the more dinner party’s thing). This year (2010) the local retail butcher/fishmonger got a hold of one of their rubs when asked to smoke a brisket for them and said “I’d like to sell your rub and blends in my shop”. OK… they finally got the message.
Nick brings the enterprise his high-end restaurant experience and Martina brings a complimentary skill set. Martina immigrated to the USA from the Slovak Republic (Slovakia) to pursue her Ph.D and after it was awarded she held research positions in New Mexico, Florida, and Indiana. An exceptional cook, Martina quickly mastered the regional cuisines where she lived and combined them with her traditional Slovak use of fresh local ingredients. Today most people call Martina's kitchen style "California Cuisine" but her adoption of the "style" predates either Tower or Puck's popularizing it in their restaurants.
Chef Nick’s is the latest of Nick Cinquegranna’s ventures. Since 1982 Nick has thrived on being a serial entrepreneur who launches a new business, brings it to profitability, concurrently launches the next one, and then sells the newly profitable one to the employees creating a dozen or more new entrepreneurs. This isn’t a lack of focus; it’s the acknowledgment that the focus is on continually creating new jobs and opportunities in our community.
